Nextra

Nextra is used to record the sessions worked and calculate:

  • Excess Basic hours - These are hours worked between a part time employees contracted hours and the Full Time Equivalent (FTE) 37.5 hours per week. This is calculated over a 75 hour fortnight as the Roster Fortnight Summary.
  • Overtime Hours - These are any hours worked above the FTE. This is calculated over a 75 hour fortnight as the Roster Fortnight Summary.
  • Unsocial Hours
  • Mobile Subsistence Allowance (MSA)

More information on how these hours are calculated per session can be found in the Working Arrangements Handbook.

The sessions are updated by Pay Confirmation Sheets that are completed on session. These are input by the blood donation team, and can be checked by employee by checking your Employee Calculations. We have created guidance on How to access Nextra Employee Calculation sheets and help Understanding your Employee Calculations as well.

Blood Donation Staff are often not paid their enhancements in the same month they are worked enhancements to their pay in line with the  Roster Fortnight Summary.
